Joseph Pilates (creator of Pilates) was very much ahead of his time with regard to biomechanics and body movement generally. The Pilates method is renowned for creating longer, leaner, stronger, more flexible bodies and is becoming more popular with the general public of all ages and fitness levels. Pilates can be used in many different ways including rehabilitation and improving posture. The Pilates technique improves posture which enables people to think about how to use their body more effectively in everyday movements.
